00:00 if you’ve never downloaded one of our
00:02 free labs libraries before
00:04 here’s a brief guide to download labs
00:07 you’ll first need to create an account
00:08 on our website
00:10 click the login button log in if you
00:12 already have an account
00:14 or create an account by typing in your
00:16 email first name
00:18 last name and a password of your choice
00:21 you can also select the button below to
00:23 be notified of when we release new labs
00:25 products
00:25 via email next i’m going to download the
00:28 app by typing in application
00:30 in the search bar this takes you to the
00:32 app page where you’ll be able to
00:33 download for mac
00:34 and windows i’m using macintosh so i’m
00:37 going to download the mac
00:38 version you’ll now find the installer in
00:41 your downloads folder on mac and windows
00:44 double click to open the installer and
00:46 then simply drag the application to your
00:49 application folder
00:51 you can now remove the installation file
00:53 from your downloads folder
00:55 and eject the spitfire audio installer
01:00 now you can navigate to applications
01:02 where this spitfire audio will reside
01:04 double click to open and select open
01:08 type in your computer password to
01:10 install the helper tool
01:12 the spitfire audio app will now open and
01:15 you should log in with the email and
01:16 password you use when you created your
01:18 account
01:19 if you’ve forgotten your password click
01:21 on the forgot password link
01:23 or if you’re yet to create an account
01:25 click create account
01:26 once you’ve logged in you’ll be taken to
01:28 the product page
01:29 if you don’t own any products you’ll be
01:31 taken straight to the labs page
01:33 where all of our labs products are now
01:34 available for you to install straight
01:36 away
01:37 prior to installing our labs libraries i
01:39 recommend you check your default content
01:41 path
01:41 this is where the libraries are
01:43 installed on your device and can be set
01:45 to
01:45 an internal or external hard drive
01:49 we recommend storing sample libraries on
01:51 an external ssd
01:53 when you’re ready to install navigate to
01:56 the library you wish to install
01:57 or simply use the search box to search
01:59 for a specific labs library
02:02 when you’re ready hit install check the
02:04 install location is correct
02:06 and the library will begin to download
02:09 if you’re not sure what labs libraries
02:10 you need
02:11 select the labs link on the spitfire
02:13 audio home page
02:15 you’ll be taken to the labs page where
02:17 you’ll be able to view exclusive content
02:19 including the demos for each product use
02:22 the instrument filter
02:23 to filter out instruments within the
02:25 same family or genre
02:27 or if you have a specific labs library
02:29 in mind use the search bar
02:31 when you finish downloading your labs
02:33 library it will be immediately available
02:36 in the dedicated labs plugin within
02:38 logic this can be found
02:40 under au instruments spitfire audio
02:43 labs and then select stereo
02:46 hit create to create a track you’ll need
02:49 a single instance
02:50 of the labs plugin per track that you
02:52 create
02:53 if you find the labs plugin is too big
02:55 for your screen you can reduce its size
02:57 by dragging the bottom right
02:59 icon here are some preferences to be
03:01 aware of
03:02 firstly the light in the top left corner
03:05 will be flashing if samples are loading
03:08 you should only use the instrument if
03:09 this light is solid green
03:11 next the cpu indicator indicates the
03:14 processing power the plugin is currently
03:16 using
03:17 and the disk indicator indicates the
03:19 load the plugin is putting
03:21 on your install location whether that’s
03:23 an internal or external device
03:26 the memory icon is the specific amount
03:28 of ram that’s being used for this patch
03:31 and the voices indicates how many voices
03:33 the instrument is currently using
03:35 the refresh icon can be used if the midi
03:38 notes within the plugin become stuck
03:41 alternatively you can control plus click
03:43 to bring up several options
03:45 including refreshing all of your
03:47 instances of labs
03:48 within your daw next we have the tune
03:52 knob
03:52 which can be used to increase or
03:54 decrease the pitch of the instrument
03:56 by up to three octaves double click to
04:00 reset this back to default the pan knob
04:02 can also be used to reset the signal to
04:05 a left or right stereo pan
04:09 and finally the volume knob controls the
04:11 volume of the instrument
04:13 we recommend leaving this 100
04:16 the final button allows us to change our
04:19 plug-in preferences
04:20 in terms of the maximum voices preload
04:23 size
04:23 stream buffer size and the master tuning
04:26 of the instrument
04:27 we recommend leaving these settings at
04:29 default
04:30 on the interface we have two sliders
04:33 these are expression which controls
04:35 overall volume
04:36 and is connected to cc11 and dynamics
04:38 which allows you to fade between the
04:40 dynamic layers
04:41 the main knob parameters can be changed
04:43 by clicking on the center icon
04:45 and this is currently set to reverb next
04:47 to the graphic keyboard we have
04:49 downwards and upwards arrows so you can
04:51 set the octave range that is visible
04:54 to the right of that we have the pitch
04:55 bend indicator
04:57 and the modulation wheel indicator which
04:59 will change as you move this on your
05:01 midi keyboard
05:02 the modulation wheel by default is set
05:04 to dynamics
05:06 finally if you wish to reset any of the
05:08 midi cc on the interface for your
05:10 specific controller
05:11 you can control and click to remove midi
05:13 cc
05:14 and then learn midi cc when you select
05:17 learn midi cc
05:18 move the fader or knob on your midi
05:21 interface you wish to connect
