Plum Audio commissioned me to make a demo video of their new filter, ADVA. This means they sent modules to use as well as paying me back for the several days of time and effort to research, set up, shoot and edit the video, and I do my best to show and explain what I think is interesting/unique about it, to help find people who have been looking for something like this, and so help them keep making more cool modules (and help in some small way to maintaining Eurorack as a viable market so we ALL get more cool things!!). This is a demo video, a demonstration of sound and capabilities, not a review, where it is assumed you accept the opinion of a third party. 00:59 low-pass modes you get two band pass

01:06 you also get drive and Distortion noise
01:10 and various modulation inputs and
01:13 attenuators you can also modulate the
01:17 filter selection itself with a CV you
01:19 have an input an output volume control
01:21 which is useful for gain staging and the
01:24 game control itself allows you to
01:26 control the adverse overall volume so it
01:29 is a built-in VCA
01:36 6 DB sounds nice like 6 DB modes now
01:39 very quickly before we get into it there
01:41 is noise
01:44 that’s analog noise analog white noise
01:47 and I did that by turning this control
01:50 that’s a blend control from the input
01:52 to the white noise so it’s just kind of
01:54 there just free white noise or not so
01:57 free
02:00 so with a saw wave from the pony vco
02:04 from befaco coming in I can turn up the
02:06 input level with A’s initial like
02:10 concentric ring here and there is an
02:12 output level here as well let’s sweep

02:17 that’s without
02:20 resonance
02:23 let’s do it with resonance
02:42 so itself resonates in all modes and
02:45 there is a one volt proactive input by
02:47 the way to control that filter you can
02:49 actually play the filter as it were and
02:51 using the output drive you can also turn
02:53 that sign into a square
02:56 and if you modulate the filter which you
02:58 can do by turning the Dual concentric
03:00 ring by default it is being modulated by
03:03 internal white noise
03:12 then you can see the modulation on the
03:14 knob by the way you can turn this off if
03:17 you prefer and you can also disable this
03:19 default noise routing if you prefer 60b
03:22 to get a different mode we push this
03:24 button in this is 12.
03:34 12 is you know you don’t hear as much of
03:37 the upper frequencies and then 18 DB 303

06:13 get a little less burnished sound than
06:16 if you drive it hard it’s true of many
06:17 other filters
06:19 the output volume shouldn’t affect that
06:21 but what I’m going to do is engage Drive
06:27 Drive does is it is a um soft clipping
06:32 overdrive and it kind of thickens the
06:34 signal

12:10 productive it will not track the filter
